The Sista System was invented by Nazy and Bonn around twelve years ago. Being dreaded for some years, we were tired of the notion society held, that dreads were a filthy, unkept mess and were only associated with ne'er-do-well's (an improvident, irresponsible, lazy, useless, or worthless person).
We made it our plan to rid the world of its unkind thoughts about locked peeps, so we began the journey into what we now all know and love as The Sista System. On this page you will meet the crew, all like us, committed to a better way to wear and treat dreads, both by yourself and society. We love what we do and would love to help you with your dreadlock journey. Dreads are not a hairstyle, but an amazing lifestyle.
The Directors
Nazimova Alla Dada
Nazimova Dada is a senior lokktician and dread installation artist. Nazy is one of two directors who helped establish the Weirdsistas twelve years ago. You can speak to Nazy about your needs and she will help design the work, bringing in "The Dread Doctor" or any other lokkticians that might be required to create the dread art piece you have requested. Nazy is available to work on your dreads by appointment only and looks forward to speaking with you soon.
Bonn Fire Harpie
The Dread Doctor herself, Bonn Harpie is a first class lokktician and other half of the director of the Weirdsistas. Bonn specializes in the art of dread repair and restoration. Bonn has been in the trade for over fifteen years so she can definitely help you achieve the dreads you have always wanted. Bonn is also only available by appointment.
Fremantle Crew (The Attic)
Medusa
A lokktician and a superb dread artist, Medusa is renowned for her incredible designs and unique dread art. You can book time with her to discuss your special date. She will work with you to create a one off design that could include, crowns and hairmosaic, as well as dreaded jewellery, wrapped and beaded dreads and intricate dread weaving. Medusa can be booked also for dread maintenance, she will tidy up your bases and can recondition your entire dread.
Mantis
Mantis is our man on the floor, he will not only design and create amazing lokks for you, but he will also do it to a beat. Mantis is not only renown for his dread art, but can produce a tune at the same time. Ask Mantis to work with you on a design for your next doofing experience.
Ruby
Ruby Tutu believes the body is a canvas - awaiting to be transformed into a masterpiece. Her fascination with changing appearance reeled her in to the Weirdsistas, where she can apply her love of body art to her work, helping people look on the outside, how they feel on the inside. Ruby loves talking to clients about colour and styles for dreads, which makes extention work her favourite thing to do at The Attic.
Melbourne Crew (The Loft)
Caitlin
Caitlin is another gifted lokktician who has extensive experience in creating dreads from scratch, and all areas of dread maintenance, installation, extensions and design. Caitlin's specialty is in the art of dread wraps, where she can create stunning and unique designs with fabulous coloured cottons and beads around you dread or follow your own design with colours, beads and ornaments of your choice.
Sarah
Our little faerie lokktician, Sarah will magic your dreads with love and rainbows. Sarah's precision work will make sure your dreads are tight and delicious. Sarah loves creating beautiful lokks with our natural method and organic products and is happy to help you express yourself through the wonderful world of dreadlocks.
