Weirdsistas, in conjunction with Lock Stock & Apparel, are currently holding courses for "Level One Lokkticians" in natural dreadlock care. This four day course will cover the process and products involved in what is known as the Sista System - a natural dreadlock creation process that is free of chemicals, threads or glues. The Sista System is a two-part method, designed by Nazy & Bonn, directors of Weirdsistas, to produce amazing well-groomed dreads that are clean, stylish, and stunning.
The Sista System is quickly becoming the most common way in which people choose to create their locks. Currently the Weirdsistas have 3,000+ clients with a further 2,000+ members on Facebook. The Sista System uses a tool we call the Weirdsista Weaver (WW tool), a little device designed to weave and bind follicles without the need for messy wax or backcombing, meaning you lose hardly any hair length. Colours can be added also if desired. A trained level one lokktician will be able to tidy all loose hair and messy bases within an hour and maintain the length of the dreadlock and bases within two hours. This process is charged at an hourly rate of $88/hr. Most clients return every six weeks for a two hour maintenance.
